Taking the Stage, Taking a Stand: LGBTQ Voices Against Violence

Join us for our wildly popular and deeply impactful event, Taking the Stage, Taking a Stand: LGBTQ Voices Against Violence! This will be the 8th event in the series, focusing on uplifting and empowering the voices of LGBTQ+ performers addressing issues of targeted violence in our city. Join us for multi-platform performances by LGBT artists, including poetry, song, dance, and more.

This event is free to attend and open to the public.

We are currently in search of artists who would like to perform at this event on May 16th! Our 'Taking the Stage' events focus on uplifting voices in the LGBTQ community through song, dance, poetry, rap, storytelling and other forms of artistry. If you, or someone you know is interested in performing a piece that expresses how you feel about targeted violence in our community, please email Sam Goodwin at samantha@thedccenter.org.

We are able to pay each performer a $50 honorarium for their contribution to this event, so please let us know if you are interested in being featured! Spaces are first come, first served, so please don't hesitate to reach out soon!
