Our work is informed by creative processes that provide a pathway for healing and strength for survivors. We also recognize that engaging in creative thought and exercise can open doors of solutions - imagining and creating a radical society free from violence will require rigorous engagement with creativity, and rejecting the status quo, in all of its varying forms. Creativity is a cornerstone upon which we build for empowerment, inspiration and forging stronger bonds with each other and with the communities around us.

DC Anti-Violence Project hosts a quarterly "Taking the Stage, Taking a Stand" event to empower survivors and allies to stand against violence in our community. Lifting our voices to express our creativity through song, poetry, dance and more, this event allows for creative engagement with trauma and societal oppression.
